Poker in the second half!

The two sides of the coin would be the right way of describing the match. The first half saw a Juventus who suffered the Bologna initiative whilst the second saw the bianconeri dominate. Giovinco had a magical game creating a number of opportunities and even scoring the advantage.

Juventus played a good first half especially during the starting minutes but Bologna where not less determined. On the 2nd minute a good Giovinco move with the ball reaching Del Piero but the action is stopped for a foul. Two minutes later Bombardini enters the area with a dangerous move but Molinaro clears. On the counter-attack Molinaro puts the ball towards Iaquinta but the defence clears.

On the 5th minute Giovinco crosses into the area with the ball reaching Brazzo but the latter fails to control well. One minute later a good Salihamidzic cross into the area finds Antonioli ready. Bologna begin to emerge and on the 7th minute Buffon performs a good save punching a dangerous shot away. Two minutes later Del Piero shoots from outside the area but the ball goes wide.

Juventus attack again on the 11th minuteand are awarded a corner after great attacking play. After a series of passes the ball is put into the area but the defence clears. One minute later there is a good ball into the area, Iaquinta tries to shoot but Terzi anticipates him.

Bologna begin to press on the accelerator and on the 16th minute Di Vaio shoots from outside the area but the ball goes wide. One minute later there is a free-kick for Bologna: Volpi shoots but Buffon cradles the ball. On the 20th minute Molinaro puts the ball into the area but the defence clears. The 22nd minute sees a ball into the Juve area but Di Vaio heads wide.

The Atomic Ant is having a great match and on the 23rd minute he puts a good ball into the area which is slightly too high for Brazzo. One minute later the Bologna supporters rejoice as a ball in the Juve area reaches Mutarelli who puts it under Buffon and into the net for the opener. The bianconeri try to react and on the 25th minute they benefit from a corner: Giovinco puts the ball into the area but it is too high and to0 angled for a good deviation.

On the 28th minute there is another corner for Juve after a good Grygera move: ball into the area but Chiellini committed a foul in attack. On the 35th minute Buffon saves easily after a long ball is put into the Juve area. Two minutes later there is a free-kick for Juve: ball in the area, Brazzo heads but the ball is deviated into corner. On the 36th minute there is a corner for Bologna: the ball reaches Buffon who saves easily.

The 37th minute sees Molinaro on a great run from the Juve zone to reach the Bologna area and shoot but the ball is cleared. Seconds later Giovinco collects a ball outside the area, goes round, shoots and Antonioli is forced to a difficult save. The ball reaches Tiago who shoots high. Two minutes later Del Piero has a good goal opportunity but he heads wide from under the keeper following a Good Giovinco cross.

Two minutes later Juventus in a good action with the ball reaching Giovinco but the defence manages to clear. On the 40th minute Giovinco is fouled just before entering the area with great speed. Free-kick for Juve from 22 meters: Del Piero shoots slightly high.

The end of the half is all for the bianconeri and on the 45th minute a beautiful Giovinco ball into the area sees Britos heading away. One minute later Grygera crosses into the area but Antonioli saves. In the last of the 2 stoppage time minutes Giovinco with a beautiful shot from outside the area sees the ball go high over the bar.

Juventus are transformed in the second half and dominate from start to end. Ranieri substitutes Tiago with Poulsen before the kick-off. On the 2nd minute Del Piero tries to enter the area but is stopped by the defence. One minute later Chiellini puts a good ball into the area but Britos puts into corner. From the corner the ball reaches Salihamidzic who heads home for the equalizer:1-1.

On the 5th minute Giovinco dishes out a beautiful ball for Del Piero in the area but the captain shoots badly. One minute later Giovinco on a good personal initiative sees Antonioli saving. The 7th minute sees Antonioli performing a miracle on a Del Piero shot. One minute later Buffon responds by performing a great save on Di Vaio following a corner.

The 10th minute sees Giovinco controlling brilliantly but he is fouled before crossing. From the free-kick the ball reaches Del Piero a first time with the defence saving, Mellberg receives the re-bound and hits with his heel for an Antonioli save. One minute later Molinaro on a good run puts a dangerous ball into the area but the defence clears.

Juventus keep the Bologna area under siege and on the 18th minute there is a free-kick for Juve: Giovinco puts a great ball inside the area Del Piero hitting the bar. Four minutes later Giovinco with a good run tries to put a ball for Iaquinta but the defence clears. Seconds later Iaquinta enters the area but Britos puts it for a corner. From the corner the defence manages to clear with difficulty.

Bologna try to react and on the 25th minute Di Vaio misses the ball by mere inches in what was a clear chance of goal following a dangerous cross in the Juve area. One minute later Iaquinta passes to Giovinco who shoots for the advantage : 2-1. The youngster deserved it. On the 28th minute Iaquinta feints and stops a great ball to enter the area but is given a foul against. The half-hour sees Juve netting a third: Poulsen wins a good ball, passes to Brazzo who passes to the captain who in turn nets following a great move making the score 3-1.

On the 31st minute Osvaldo in the area creates problems to the Juve defence winning a corner. One minute later the Ball is put into the Bologna area but it once again Britos who clears. Seconds later there is another corner for Juve: after a series of attempts the ball is cleared. On the 35th minute Giovinco on the run tries to pass to Iaquinta but the pass is short.

The 39th minute sees Iaquinta who shoots from outside the area with the ball going inches too high. Two minutes later Iaquinta passes to Del Piero in the area but after a series of ball exchanges the defence clears. On the 42nd minute a good ball into the area by Brazzo towards Del Piero who sees Antonioli save a first time but from the re-bound the captain nets for the 4-1.

The 43rd minute sees Daud make his debut in the Serie A coming on for Giovinco who receives a standing ovation. On the 45th minute Del Piero hits the post following a great run and a powerful shot. A second debut and a second standing ovation: Immobile on for Del Piero. The captain also receives the public’s applause.

The match ended 4-1 with Ranieri’s boys hoping in a slip by inter against Fiorentina on Sunday night to continue reducing the margin from the top.
